Dark feelings of despair, helplessness, defeat, and even shame consume you; it feels like you’ve reached the end of the road and there’s simply no way ahead.
What’s the point? You’ve fought such a long and hard battle and tried to gain the upper hand, but it’s reached the point where you believe, albeit falsely, that you’ve run out of options.
You’re finally about to wave the white flag.
Of course, as anyone who has been in such a position and managed to overcome such desperate emotional obstacles will testify, the reality is that nothing could be further from the truth.
You can win the fight, and you will.
Suicide is a topic I have previously touched on several times in my blog and on my podcast/YouTube channels and is an issue very close to home.
However, I know from personal experience that even if someone reaches rock bottom and is finding it difficult to carry on, there is always hope and a reason to continue living.
Today (September 10, 2021) has been deemed World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) and is an opportunity to draw attention to the subject and help spread awareness.
That said, mental health issues in general aren’t only a 24-hour affair. They affect millions of people in many different forms and to varying degrees, and it is important that not only are those with such conditions receiving the right support, but that others are aware and vigilant of their situation.
For those struggling desperately to cope, suicide can seem like the only way out. However, taking one’s own life is never the right solution.
Therefore, if you are concerned about someone you know, please reach out to them and encourage them to get the help they need.
In addition to health services, there are some amazing support organisations available, such as the Samaritans, whose volunteers are available to talk 24/7, and whose ability to listen and offer words of encouragement save many lives every day.

Like I mentioned earlier, I have covered issues such as mental health, depression, and suicide on this blog as well as in videos (YouTube: Toro Vista) and podcasts on my personal channels.
I am obviously not a medical professional, and would always urge people in need of help with such serious matters to contact qualified individuals and organisations as soon as possible.
However, I have produced the articles and broadcasts based on both lengthy personal experience, as well as research and information gained from reliable, authentic, and certified sources. People experiencing problems, along with their friends and loved ones, may find the content helpful and supportive.
If anyone reading this is suffering from depression and has suicidal thoughts, please remember that you are not alone and that help and support is always accessible.
Sometimes, simply talking to someone can help, and if you don’t feel able to communicate with people close to you, then you can reach out to independent organisations like the Samaritans and speak to them in confidence.
Also remember that there are millions of us out here who are with you all the way, so stay strong and don’t give up.
There is always light at the end of the tunnel.
